Why Vancouver homes book the install differently than other cities
Heritage West Side and Shaughnessy
Older homes with detailed trim, wrap-around porches, and complex rooflines — they read best with warm-white C9 along the roofline plus accent strands on porch columns and fascia. Most West Side installs run the Classic or Premium package given the linear footage involved.
Downtown and Yaletown commercial
Storefront facades, restaurant patios, hotel exteriors. Commercial installs need building-management coordination on access windows; we book the slot and confirm permits with the building during quoting. Most commercial installs run on warm-white C9 or alternating-pattern installs depending on brand aesthetic.
Kitsilano and West End residential
Single-family detached homes with the standard residential install pattern. Lots accept the full Classic package (~150 linear feet of roofline plus tree/bush accents). Pricing lands in the $8.50–$10 per linear foot range for most Kitsilano installs.
Mount Pleasant and East Vancouver
Modern homes with simpler rooflines. Often the Starter package fits — clean warm-white C9 along the main roofline, no tree or bush accent. $8.50/ft pricing for most Starter installs.
Free off-season storage and the year-2 math
The first season you book with us, you pay for the design, install, lights, takedown, and storage as a fixed package. Year two, the math gets meaningfully better — your strands are already in our warehouse, labeled with your name and your roof’s section map. The install crew arrives on day one with the same lights, the same plan, and the same install pattern. No buy-new cost. No design re-walk unless your house has changed. Most Vancouver clients see year-2 pricing 15–25% lower than year-1 because the materials are already paid for.
This is the reason most Christmas-light installers in Vancouver lose customers after one season. We don’t.
A typical Vancouver residential install
For a two-storey Vancouver home with rooflines, two trees in the front yard, and a pathway from the sidewalk to the door, a typical Classic package install looks like:
- ~150 linear feet of warm-white C9 LED along the main and gable rooflines
- ~80 linear feet of mini-lights wrapping the two front-yard trees
- ~30 linear feet of pathway lights along the front walk
- Clip-style attachment (no staples)
- One on-site design walk-through, season-long maintenance, January takedown, free storage
Setup runs 4–6 hours depending on roof complexity; takedown 2–3 hours. Both quoted up front. The Premium package adds bush wraps, larger architectural accents, and timer integration.
