Dance Floor Size by Guest Count

The rule of thumb: about a third of your guests dance at once, and each dancer needs roughly 4.5 sq ft. Here's how our panel sizes map to a typical event.

What dance floor sizes do you offer?

We carry modular black-and-white dance floors in multiple configurations from 12×12 ft to larger setups. Exact available sizes depend on current inventory — check online or contact us to discuss your square footage needs and we'll recommend the right size.

How much dance floor space do we need?

Plan for approximately 30% of your guests dancing at any one time, allowing 4–5 sq ft per dancer. For 100 guests, a 12×12 ft floor (144 sq ft) is typically sufficient. For 150+ guests we recommend 15×15 ft or larger. We can help you size it correctly — just tell us your guest count and venue dimensions.

Can the dance floor be installed outdoors?

Yes — our modular dance floors work well on outdoor patios, concrete, and under tent canopies. We strongly recommend a flat, level surface. For outdoor installations on grass, we may use a sub-floor base to ensure stability. Let us know your venue conditions when booking.

How long does installation and removal take?

Installation typically takes 30–90 minutes depending on the size and site. We coordinate with your venue or event coordinator to schedule setup well before guests arrive and return for collection after the event ends.

Does the dance floor work under a marquee tent?

Yes — many of our clients combine a dance floor with one of our marquee tents for a seamless indoor-outdoor feel. When booking both, our crew coordinates installation so the dance floor is level and fully covered under the tent canopy.

Do we need to clean the dance floor before pickup?

No — our crew cleans the dance floor during takedown. You don't need to do anything except enjoy the night. Just make sure the floor area is accessible for our team to collect at the agreed time.

How much does a dance floor rental cost?

Our black-and-white checkered floor runs from $800 to $1,600 per event depending on the size you need. That price includes the subfloor, professional installation, and post-event takedown — delivery is quoted on top based on your city. The dance floor is a fixed per-event rental rather than a per-day item.

Does it need a perfectly flat surface?

No — every rental includes our subfloor levelling system, which lets the floor sit flat and stable over grass, carpet, and pavement. We stage the floor first and let your florals, head tables, and staging build around it. For uneven sites, just flag the conditions when you book so we bring the right base.
