Forever Party Rentals delivers two Starlink kits (sometimes searched as star link) to Lower Mainland events that grid internet can't reach — venues without fibre, off-grid weddings, shoulder-season pop-ups, and production shoots in BC's backcountry. Standard Actuated and Mini rent at the same rate: $145 / 2-day weekend or $345 / week.
Standard is the event workhorse: rectangular dish, Gen 3 WiFi router, 15 m of weather-rated cable, and Roam (Canada + USA) pre-activated. We place the dish with sky view and confirm speeds on delivery — typically 100–200 Mbps down with 25–50 ms latency. Mini is the backpack kit: 1.16 kg, 25–40 W, software-assisted aiming, and Roam with international coverage. Pick the kit that matches the job — not the budget.
Pick the hardware that matches the job. Weekend and weekly rates are identical — you’re not paying extra for Mini or Standard.
Rectangular dish · 50–75 W · 100–200 Mbps. Guest WiFi, DJ streaming, livestreams, and POS at a reception. We place it with sky view and confirm speeds on delivery.
1.16 kg · 25–40 W · backpack-sized. Film crews, POS, failover, and jobs that need to travel light. Software-assisted aiming — we confirm orientation on delivery.
The events grid internet can't reach — and the venues where downtime isn't an option.
Country properties and vineyards without commercial internet. Livestream the ceremony, stream the DJ playlist, run contactless payments at the bar. Pair with a Delta 3 Max for fully off-grid silent power.
Remote location shoots that need to push dailies to cloud, run Frame.io reviews, or keep Slack live. Standard Actuated handles a 4-person crew's bandwidth without negotiation.
Week-long activations, food-truck rallies, art fairs. POS terminals, Square/Stripe payments, social-media livestreams from the booth — Starlink + Roam covers everything.
Lodge offsites and ranch retreats where the venue WiFi caps at 5 Mbps. Run real Zoom calls, Google Meet, and Slack with the speeds your team has at the office.
When grid internet fails — for community recovery centres, insurance pop-ups, or businesses needing fast-deploy backup connectivity. We can deliver same-day for active situations.
New-build sites without service yet, foreman trailers, and remote project offices. Cloud BIM, Procore, and live video meetings without waiting on Telus to install fibre.
Same crew, same weekend minimum, same Roam subscription included. The hardware is the choice.

New to event connectivity? Our guide covers when an event actually needs Starlink — the real speeds, the EcoFlow power math, and the clear-sky check.
Starlink needs a clear view of the sky — ideally pointing north with no large trees, buildings, or roof overhangs blocking the dish's field of view. The Starlink app has a built-in obstruction tool we can run during your site visit. In dense forest or downtown alleys with tall buildings on all sides, performance can degrade. We'll flag any concerns during booking.
On the Roam plan with a clear sky, expect 100–200 Mbps download, 10–20 Mbps upload, and 25–50 ms latency. That's enough for Zoom calls, 4K video streaming, simultaneous DJ streaming + guest WiFi, livestream rigs, and credit-card payment terminals all running at the same time.
Same price either way. Book Standard Actuated for receptions that need guest WiFi, DJ streaming, livestreams, and POS all at once — the larger kit holds 100–200 Mbps. Book Mini when the kit has to travel light: film crews, a single POS terminal, failover internet, or a small off-grid setup. Mini is 1.16 kg and draws 25–40 W; Standard draws 50–75 W and wants the Delta 3 Max if you're also running lights.
We deliver the kit pre-configured, place the dish with a clear view of the sky, confirm orientation, and walk through WiFi on-site. Mini uses software-assisted aiming. Either router broadcasts WiFi within ~30 seconds of connecting. We confirm a live connection before we leave.
Mini draws 25–40 W average — a Delta 2 carries it for a full event day. Standard Actuated draws 50–75 W continuous (peaks at ~150 W in cold weather when the dish melts snow). On a 2048 Wh Delta 3 Max that's about 25–30 hours of continuous Standard, or roughly 8 hours of Standard + lighting + DJ at a typical reception load. Book the kit and the battery together for fully off-grid event connectivity.
Two-day weekend is the minimum (Friday delivery, Sunday pickup) — same minimum as our power station rentals so weekend events can book the kits together. For longer activations (festivals, week-long film shoots, multi-day production), we offer a weekly (5–7 day) rate that works out cheaper per day.
Your date is locked once the deposit is paid. Deposits aren't refundable if you cancel. If you need to reschedule because of weather, we'll roll your deposit forward to a new date at no charge — just let us know before crew dispatch. See our full terms at checkout.
