- Heavier anchor kit — ballasted weights paired with engineered stakes for Inlet-exposed installs
Inlet wind cuts the same direction in July as in October. We don’t compromise on anchor strategy here.
Inlet wind, forest canopy, and Port Moody operational realities

Inlet-exposed waterfront sites
Rocky Point, Shoreline Trail, and the Moody Centre waterfront all sit on Burrard Inlet exposure that inland Tri-Cities venues don’t share. Ballasted weights and sidewalls year-round; we size up the marquee against forecast.
Forested ceremony sites
Buntzen Lake’s lakefront and Bert Flinn’s wooded zones have tree cover that constrains marquee peak height. We pre-walk forest sites we haven’t delivered to, or skip the marquee entirely for chair-only ceremonies under the canopy. Our 13’ peak fits most but not all sites.
Higher-elevation residential
Heritage Woods’ elevation produces afternoon wind that lower Moody Centre doesn’t see. We plan accordingly for any property above the Inlet’s flat zone.
Per-item pricing
The same in Heritage Woods as on Rocky Point. Our 5ft round table is one rate, full stop. The line that changes between bookings is delivery — wind, anchor, elevation — never the per-item rate.
Brewery district and Inlet-side restaurant patio events
Port Moody’s Inlet-side brewery district and the Brewers Row corridor have grown into a steady stream of corporate events, milestone parties, and post-wedding receptions in the last few years. Most setups are smaller-footprint (20×20 popups, 1–2 highboys, bistro lighting for the patio) and run on 3–4 week lead times rather than the 6–8 weeks we recommend for full-scale weddings. Patio installs need ballast (no staking on pavement) and almost always sidewalls — Inlet wind funnels right down through the brewery district.
A 100-guest Port Moody wedding rental order
For a 100-guest Port Moody wedding — say a Saturday in August at a Rocky Point area ceremony followed by an Inlet-facing reception — a typical order looks like:
- 1 × 20×60 marquee tent with sidewalls (Inlet wind + evening enclosure)
- 100 × white Chiavari chairs (ceremony rows, then re-staged at reception tables)
- 12 × 5ft round tables for the reception
- 6 × 6ft banquet tables (head, gift, cake, DJ, registration, bar)
- 1 × 12×16 portable dance floor
- 2 × cocktail highboys for the cocktail hour
- Bistro string lighting along the marquee ridge
- Ballasted weight kits (Inlet default; engineered stakes for inland venues on grass)
Setup runs 5–6 hours; teardown 3–4. Both quoted up front. For other guest counts, the 50/100/150/200 rental checklist maps the same configuration to your headcount.
