North Van delivery isn’t urban delivery. Four operational realities shape the quote.
Bridge + traffic
We plan delivery windows around the Ironworkers Memorial crossing and Lonsdale traffic patterns. Friday afternoon and Sunday morning teardowns get the widest windows.
Driveway grade and width
Our delivery trucks handle most North Van driveways, but unusually steep or narrow lots need staging at the road. We confirm access during quoting — never on event day.
Overhead branches and clearance
North Shore yards have more tree cover than most Lower Mainland properties. We measure marquee peak clearance before quoting; the backyard tent sizing playbook covers the measurements we ask for.
Mountain weather
Elevation-driven afternoon wind is the constant. Sidewalls go up year-round on any North Van mountain-adjacent venue.
Per-item pricing
The same on a Lynn Valley acreage as in any North Van neighbourhood. Our 5ft round table is one rate, full stop. The line that changes between bookings is delivery — distance, grade, access — never the per-item rate.
Lonsdale waterfront and Quay-area events
The other half of our North Van calendar is waterfront — restaurant patio events, Lonsdale Quay-area weddings, and corporate gatherings along the Burrard Inlet. The operational pattern is different from mountain installs: smaller footprints (a 20×20 or 20×30 typically clears the patio), faster setup, and a stronger emphasis on cocktail-hour highboys and bistro lighting than full-scale dinner seating. Wind exposure is meaningful at the water’s edge — sidewalls go up year-round, even on summer evenings.
A 100-guest North Vancouver wedding rental order
For a 100-guest North Vancouver wedding — say a Saturday in August at a Lynn Valley acreage with ceremony on the lawn under tree cover and reception under a marquee — a typical order looks like:
- 1 × 20×60 marquee tent with sidewalls (covered reception; ceremony is open-air under the trees)
- 100 × white Chiavari chairs (ceremony rows under canopy, then re-staged at reception tables)
- 12 × 5ft round tables for the reception
- 6 × 6ft banquet tables (head, gift, cake, DJ, registration, bar)
- 1 × 12×16 portable dance floor
- 2 × cocktail highboys for the cocktail hour
- Bistro string lighting along the marquee ridge
- Engineered stakes paired with ballast (default for North Shore grass installs)
