Three chair lines that cover almost every Richmond event:
- White Chiavari ($8.50/day) — the wedding-reception standard. Lacquered hardwood frame, ivory cushion, stacks 8 high. Best for Brighouse hotel ballroom receptions, Olympic Oval gala seating, indoor restaurant weddings along No. 3 Road, and any Richmond venue where the photos prioritize formal seating.
- Fanback folding ($3.25/day) — the workhorse. Steel frame, folds flat, stacks compactly. Right for ceremony rows, corporate registrations at the Olympic Oval, large school-event seating, and any high-headcount banquet-style booking — common at the Asian-banquet-style weddings Richmond is known for.
- Resin Garden ($5.50/day) — the outdoor-resilient pick. Resin frame and seat, more substantial visual than Fanback but more forgiving than Chiavari to salt air, river dampness, and coastal humidity. The right call for Garry Point Park beach ceremonies, Steveston Heritage Village waterfront weddings, and Minoru Park outdoor events.

Steveston and Garry Point waterfront
Steveston Heritage Fishing Village and Garry Point Park run salt-air, dampness, and afternoon onshore wind — every detail matters for chair selection. Resin Garden is the standard for these waterfront ceremonies. Vehicle access is straightforward through the village; truck-stop windows around fish-shop deliveries get coordinated during quoting.
Brighouse and Richmond Centre — banquet and hotel weddings
Brighouse hosts most of Richmond’s hotel-ballroom weddings (Sheraton, Pacific Gateway, Marriott, Hilton). Banquet-style weddings of 250–400 guests are routine — Chiavari for the head and family tables, Fanback folding for the broader floor when the configuration runs full theatre-style. Loading-dock access at most Brighouse hotels is controlled and we book the window during quoting.
Olympic Oval and River Rock — large corporate and gala events
The Olympic Oval handles 500–1000 guest galas and large corporate events. Freight access is ample but the loading schedule is tightly programmed. River Rock Show Theatre runs on its own dock calendar and we book against their event programming, not against ours.
Hamilton, Thompson, Seafair backyards
Detached-home Richmond backyards are flat (the whole city is delta-flat) and large. Sprinkler heads and irrigation runs matter for stake decisions; most Hamilton and Seafair lots accept any chair configuration without anchoring concerns.
Per-item pricing
The same in Steveston as in Brighouse. Our Chiavari chair is one rate, full stop. The line that changes between bookings is delivery — venue dock access, after-hours timing, distance — never the per-chair rate.
Same-day swaps and short-notice add-ons
Richmond’s grid layout and flat terrain mean we can typically reach any Richmond ZIP within 35–45 minutes of leaving the warehouse. Short-notice walk-in additions or chair swaps mid-event can be on-site within 60–90 minutes during business hours, even during Olympic Oval programming days.
A 100-guest Richmond chair rental order
For a 100-guest Richmond wedding — say a Saturday in August at Garry Point Park ceremony followed by a Steveston restaurant reception — a typical chair-side order looks like:
- 100 × white Chiavari chairs (full ceremony + reception staging — these reset between the two)
- or 100 × Resin Garden outdoor + 100 × Chiavari indoor (the waterfront-ceremony-into-indoor-reception standard)
The two-chair-line setup is the most common Richmond waterfront wedding configuration — the photographer gets cleaner, salt-air-resilient backgrounds for the outdoor ceremony and the reception keeps the formal Chiavari aesthetic. For larger banquet-style Brighouse hotel weddings (250–400 guests), Chiavari ships in volume — the 50/100/150/200 rental checklist maps the chair count + table count to your headcount.
