Ocean-side installs (Ambleside, Dundarave, waterfront homes)
Howe Sound inflow wind shapes everything. Sidewalls year-round. Ballast at every leg paired with stakes where the surface accepts them. Marquee sized one tier above the strict headcount requirement to absorb gusts.
British Properties estate lawns
Terraced grade is the operational reality. Most estates accept a 20×60 comfortably on the main lawn; the dance floor portion typically needs subfloor levelling. We grade-check during quoting and budget the levelling time before the install starts.
Cypress Park and mountain-adjacent venues
Elevation-driven afternoon wind is predictable from late morning. Same doubled anchor strategy as ocean-side installs, plus we recommend booking the install for the morning shift to finish before the afternoon wind pattern builds.
Whytecliff and Lighthouse Park
Tight venues. Full marquees rarely work here; 10×10 popups for the officiant or cake-table cover are the common pattern. Reception happens at an adjacent estate or waterfront home, and we move the full marquee setup there.
Per-item pricing
The same in Caulfeild as in Horseshoe Bay. Our 20×40 marquee is one rate, full stop. The line that changes is delivery and anchor — ballast count, ferry timing, cart access — never the tent rate.
Ocean-side anchor strategy and the wind plan
A West Van waterfront marquee is structurally a Burnaby marquee with twice the anchor weight and full sidewalls. The marquee itself doesn’t change; what changes is the install procedure. Every leg gets ballast (concrete weights, not water-fillable, because water leaks and concrete doesn’t). Engineered stakes pair with ballast wherever the surface accepts them — sandy lawn, grass, even some packed gravel. Sidewalls go up at install, not “if it rains” — Howe Sound weather changes in fifteen minutes and we don’t bring sidewalls back to install mid-reception. A 100-guest West Vancouver tent rental order
For a 100-guest West Van wedding — say a Saturday in August at a Dundarave waterfront home, ceremony on the lawn followed by reception under the marquee — a typical tent-side order looks like:
- 1 × 20×60 marquee tent (covered reception on the lawn)
- 4 × tent sidewalls (full enclosure for evening, Howe Sound wind)
- 8 × bistro string-light strands across the marquee ridge
- 1 × tent heater (shoulder-season default; August evenings still cool at the waterfront)
- Engineered stakes paired with ballast at every leg (default for ocean-adjacent grass)
