What our Vancouver dance floor lineup covers

Three floor sizes that cover almost every Vancouver wedding and corporate booking:
- 12×12 portable dance floor — 60–80 guests, smaller backyard receptions, intimate venues. The smallest floor that still feels like a real floor (not a rug).
- 12×16 portable dance floor — the workhorse. 100-guest weddings, most marquee setups, most rooftop installs. The size that suits a 20×60 marquee best.
- 16×20 portable dance floor — 150–200 guests, larger acreage and heritage-venue receptions. Edge ramps and full subfloor on grass installations.
- Subfloor panels — engineered platforms that level grass, sloped lawns, gravel, and uneven patios beneath the dance floor. Adds 90–120 minutes to setup; quoted separately.
- Edge ramps — included on every floor install where guests step from the surrounding floor onto the dance floor. Trip-hazard safety, not aesthetic.
The floor goes down level. Heels don’t catch panel seams. We don’t ship a floor that bounces under load.

Marquee installs on grass
Most Vancouver tent receptions need subfloor under the dance floor — grass settles under heel impact, and uneven turf shows up immediately when the music starts. Subfloor adds 90–120 minutes; we factor it into the quote up front.
Rooftop installs
Yaletown and downtown rooftops accept dance floors with appropriate weight distribution. Panels at <60 lb each fit nearly every freight elevator. Ballast for any tent component goes up; the floor itself sits flat on the rooftop surface.
Heritage venue receptions
Hart House, Anvil Centre, and other heritage venues with existing flooring accept the dance floor directly with edge ramps only — no subfloor. Setup is faster (45–60 minutes for a 12×16) than grass installs.
Per-item pricing
The same in Yaletown as in Kitsilano. Our 12×16 portable dance floor is one rate, full stop. The line that changes between bookings is delivery and subfloor — surface, freight elevator, slope — never the per-floor rate.
Subfloor on grass and the level-floor guarantee
Most Vancouver outdoor receptions use grass as the foundation, and most grass surfaces aren’t level enough to support a tight, gap-free dance floor without engineered subfloor underneath. We install subfloor on every grass-installed dance floor we quote — not as an upsell, but as the only way to deliver a floor that holds together under 80–100 dancing guests at midnight. The added setup time gets quoted up front, and the floor we hand over is the one we’d dance on ourselves.
A 100-guest Vancouver dance floor rental order
For a 100-guest Vancouver wedding under marquee on grass, a typical dance floor order looks like:
- 1 × 12×16 portable dance floor (the standard for 100 guests)
- Subfloor panels (level the grass beneath the floor)
- Edge ramps on all four sides
- Crew install (90–120 minutes for floor + subfloor)
For a heritage-venue reception with existing flooring, the same 12×16 ships without subfloor, and the install drops to 45–60 minutes. For 60–80 guest backyard weddings, swap to a 12×12; for 150–200 guest receptions, a 16×20 with full subfloor on grass.
